NBA Rumors: The Raptors Can Land Bradley Beal In A Blockbuster Trade

The Toronto Raptors are the defending NBA Champions. They’ve lost Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green to free agency, yet they’re still hanging on to a 46-18 record, the Eastern Conference’s second-best mark prior to the hiatus.

Still, it seems like people are once again sleeping on the Raptors. They have a rising star on Pascal Siakam, proven veterans like Marc Gasol, Kyle Lowry, and Serge Ibaka; and a core of hard-working role players that mesh around perfectly with each other.

But if the Raptors want to keep the momentum going and continue to compete for many years to come, they better set their eyes on another All-Star. And, according to Clutchpoints, they’d be interested in entering the Bradley Beal sweepstakes in the offseason:

“Toronto will want to sign Fred VanVleet to an extension in the offseason. They need to hand over the reigns to him, which means that any potential trade deal will likely involve Kyle Lowry. A VanVleet and Beal backcourt pairing does sound rather remarkable. A bona fide All-Star at the two spot appear to be what the Raptors need to propel this team into contender status, and Beal certainly fits that mold. A core of VanVleet, Beal, and Pascal Siakam means that the Raptors are going to be set for the next two to four years, at least,” the report claimed.

Thus far, there’s no indication whatsoever that would make us think that the Washington Wizards are interested in parting ways with Beal, especially considering John Wall is about to finally come back after a two-year absence.

But, if the Wizards continue to underperform and Beal decides to force his way out of the team, the Raptors would make a lot of sense as a potential destination for him. This is a story that’s worth following pretty closely, for sure.
