NBA legend Dennis Rodman was one of the main characters of Sunday night’s episodes of ‘The Last Dance’ documentary. ‘The Worm’ was a very important piece for the Bulls’ success, but he was also a trouble maker due to his lifestyle.
At some point, Jordan told the story Rodman approaching Bulls coach Phil Jackson and said he needed a vacation and wanted to go to Las Vegas.
“If you let this dude go to vacation, we’re not gonna see him,” Jordan recalls telling Jackson at the time. “You let him go to Vegas, we definitely not gonna see him.”
Jackson agreed with Rodman, telling him to return in 48 hours.
“He leaves that room, goes straight to the airport. Boom, we don’t hear or see Dennis for 48 hours,” Jordan reflected.
At that time, Rodman was dating none other than Carmen Electra, and she recalled their relationship in the documentary, as well. Electra described the kind of life Rodman had when he was in Las Vegas, calling the big man ‘wild’.
“I do remember being in Vegas with him. It was on. The party was starting right away,” Electra reflected. “One thing about Dennis — he had to escape. He liked to go out. He liked to go to clubs. We’d go to his favorite restaurant. Then we’d go to a nightclub. Then we’d go to after hours. It didn’t stop.”
“It was definitely an occupational hazard to be Dennis’ girlfriend,” she added with a laugh. “He was wild.”
When time finished and he didn’t show up to practice, Phil Jackson tasked Jordan to go get his teammate back while running into Electra, who tried everything to hide from His Airness.

“He didn’t come back on time,” Jordan explained. “So we had to go get his ass out of bed. And I’m not gonna say what’s in his bed and where he was a blah, blah, blah.”
Electra, though, didn’t know Dennis had to return to the Bulls.
“There’s a knock on the door, and it’s Michael Jordan,” Electra said of the encounter. “And I hid. I didn’t want him to see me like that.”
“So I’m just, like, hiding behind the couch with covers over me, [And Jordan goes], “Come on! We got to get to practice.”
Things got a little odd between Dennis and his teammates, but he proved himself after that, helping the Bulls win championships, becoming one of the greatest defensive players on earth.
