Team USA is ready to take revenge this summer after the bad tournament they had in the last FIBA World Cup. The redemption team 2.0 is already in the making and there is a big name that could be playing in Tokyo in the upcoming summer Olympics.

Los Angeles Lakers’ star LeBron James has opened up about possible participation in the tournament, stating that his ‘name is in the hat’, but there are things to consider before making a final decision.

“My name is in the hat and it’s always predicated on: one; my body, how my body is feeling at the end of the season — I hope to make a long playoff run,” James said. “And then where my mind is and then where my family’s head is. So, it’s a lot of factors but my name is in the hat.”

Bron already knows what it’s like to be part of a redemption team. He played for the 2004 Team USA that won Bronze in Athens. After that, his teams went on to win gold medals in the next two Olympics alongside Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony, Kobe Bryant, and Kevin Durant.

In 2016, though, he decided to rest during the offseason after winning the NBA championship with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

It remains to be seen whether or not he’ll take part in Team USA this year, but he’s part of the 44 finalists USA Basketball announced in recent hours.
