Zion Williamson just made his NBA debut a couple of days ago and he’s getting any kind of praise every day. It’s not a secret that this guy is expected to do big things in the league, and it’s fair to say his beginning in the association has been good.

The latest name to praise the forward was none other than the GOAT, Michael Jordan, who claimed Jordan Brand was “fortunate” New Orleans Pelicans rookie Williamson signed an endorsement deal with them.

Williamson signed a record rookie sneaker deal worth $75 million over five years with the Jumpman. The Pelicans star made his long-awaited regular season NBA debut on Wednesday against the San Antonio Spurs and finished with 22 points before scoring 15 more on the Denver Nuggets on Friday night.

“It’s not just me. The NBA is very fortunate to have a young man who shows so much passion for the game,” Michael Jordan said, via Sky Sports. “That is something you can’t give. You are born with it and you want to share it with the rest of the world.

“Jordan Brand looks at Zion Williamson as an impact player who brings energy to the game of basketball. We were fortunate he chose us. We can’t play basketball for him but we have the opportunity to showcase his talent. That is what our job is going to be. What you saw the other night is a taste of what to expect going forward. That’s great for the league.”

Zion landed here to stay, as he’s looking very good in his first two games with the Pels, ready to become the face of the franchise after Anthony Davis’ departure. During his first and only season with Duke, Williamson put on an absolute show.

The rookie averaged 22.6 points, 8.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game while shooting 68.0 percent from the field, 33.8 percent from beyond the arc and 64.0 percent from the free-throw line.

This guy is set to take the league by storm and MJ is right with his claims. Jordan Brand is signing huge names recently, as Luka Doncic became part of their roster recently, too.
