Luka Doncic is on a tear unlike any other. In just his second season, at 20 years old, Doncic is averaging 29 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 9 assists. As he breaks records and leads the Mavericks to one of the best records in the West, he is capturing the attention from eyes all around the world.

But not everyone is as impressed with his record-breaking numbers. Kenny Smith, for example, says Lukas 20 triple-doubles on the season is nothing compared to what a guy like Jason Kidd would have gotten in today’s game.

The quote comes after Ernie Johnson compared Luka’s numbers to Kidd’s. In just 111 games, Luka has 20 triple-doubles while Kidd has just 21 in 500 games with the franchise.

In Kenny’s mind, getting triple-doubles today are much easier than back in Kidd’s day. According to Kenny, the increased shot opportunities and a less-physical play style make things very different. It’s incomparable in his mind.

Regardless of what you think, the fact that this conversation is even being had shows just how impressive Doncic has been. He’s so young but is already being compared to some All-Time greats. Dallas has truly struck gold.
