5 Free Agents That Could Help Giannis Antetokounmpo Next Season

5 Min Read

Giannis Anteokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks keep rising but they still lack the kind of supporting cast that can take them all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals, not to mention how poorly coached this team was for most of the season.

The Bucks young core is quite impressive and they will be a threat in the East for years to come, but unless they surround the Greek Freak with capable role players, they’re never going to make the most of the talented forward.

Nevertheless, they will have to clear some salary off their books in order to land some good role players, or else they will have to offer them just the veteran minimum. Having said that, it would be safe to expect them to try and move both John Henson and Tony Snell.

Today, we’re going to let you know about the top 5 role players that could be a lot of help for Giannis next season.

5. Jamal Crawford

Jamal Crawford has been one of the most prolific scorers in the league ever since making his professional debut, and he’s arguably a Hall of Famer after being one of the league’s most consistent sixth men ever.

The veteran would have a bigger shot at the Ring if he plays in the East and the Bucks struggled all year long with three-point shooting, so he would be a major pickup for this surging young team.

4. Marco Belinelli

Marco Belinelli Phila

Belinelli had a terrific end of the year with the Philadelphia 76ers and even though he’s a major defensive liability, he definitely makes up for it with his ability to shoot lights out from beyond the three-point land.

The veteran shooting guard would come quite handy next to a top-notch defender and playmaker such as Matthew Dellavedova, and he would help fix this team’s huge defensive woes.

3. Zach Randolph

Zach Randolph Kings

Zach Randolph isn’t getting any younger, but he’s never going to be outhustled by any younger, more athletic player. He was a stud when he was able to play with the Kings and he would have a much more productive role for a team with an actual ability to contend.

Randolph has made a living for himself for bullying his way into the paint and he’s one of the best offensive rebounders in the league, and that kind of grit and grind and veteran leadership will definitely come handy next to Giannis.

2. Rodney Hood

Rodney Hood Cavs

Rodney Hood is one of the most talented young scorers in the league, but he’s mightily struggled to establish himself as a solid rotation player for this renewed Cleveland Cavaliers, so they’re quite unlikely to match any high bids for him during the summer.

Hood can create off the dribble and score in a huge variety of ways, not to mention he’s a great off-ball scorer as well that could help them with their struggles from beyond the arc, as well as leading the 2nd unit.

1. Brook Lopez

Brook Lopez would be a major upgrade for their center spot as they’ve lacked a true productive big man down low, and even though he’s not much of a rebounder or a rim protector, he’s still a terrific scorer from all over the hardwood.

Lopez has already embraced a lesser role with the Lakers and he knows that he’d have a much easier path to the Finals if he goes back to the Eastern Conference, and he wouldn’t have much competition for minutes there.
