Victor Oladipo recently revealed his top five dunkers of all time on ‘NBA Today’, a list that highlights the most explosive and electrifying players to ever soar through the air. Known for his own high-flying dunks throughout his career, Oladipo is well-positioned to assess the best dunkers the league has ever seen. His list reflects a blend of power, creativity, and sheer athleticism, with a mix of both past and present NBA greats.

“Here we go at number five. I got my man, Mr. Griffin, lobbing in a city near you. Lon city, he brought Lob City to LA, man. You gotta put him on the list. Number five, he was dunking on centers left and right. My goodness.”

“We got LeBron James Sr., LeBron James. Probably one of the few people in the league to jump over a human being right here. Goodness gracious, look out below. He’s definitely top five, number four on my top five list exactly.”

“Number threem I got my man Silk Wilk is what I like to call him Dominique Wilkins. If you can windmill with two hands you’re a special human so I had to put my man on here at number three dunking like Silk Wilk.”

“At number two, I got MJ, Air Jordan. My man been jumping since he was out the womb. It’s hard to go against someone who can jump and glide from the line as he could. and glide from the line as he could.”

“And last and first, but not least, Vince Sanity.”

Coming in at number five on Oladipo’s list is Blake Griffin, the player who helped define the Lob City era for the Los Angeles Clippers. Griffin’s ability to dunk over virtually any defender, particularly towering centers, made him a must-see player in the early 2010s.

Griffin didn’t just dunk; he dominated the rim with a combination of brute strength and surprising agility. His dunks over Kendrick Perkins and Timofey Mozgov remain some of the most memorable in NBA history. Griffin brought showtime back to Los Angeles, earning his spot in Oladipo’s top five.

At number four, Oladipo chose LeBron James, one of the most powerful and athletic dunkers the game has ever seen. LeBron’s dunk over John Lucas III, where he leaped completely over a standing human being, is just one example of his extraordinary leaping ability.

Even at the age of 39, LeBron still regularly delivers ferocious dunks that leave fans and opponents in awe. While he may be more known for his all-around game and longevity, his in-game dunks over the years have solidified his place among the greatest dunkers of all time.

Next on Oladipo’s list is Dominique Wilkins, or as he called him, “Silk Wilk.” Known for his graceful yet powerful dunks, Wilkins was a two-time NBA Slam Dunk Contest champion and is widely regarded as one of the most ferocious dunkers in history. Wilkins’ two-handed windmills and his ability to finish through contact made him a nightmare for defenders.

His duels with Michael Jordan in dunk contests are legendary, and he was just as dominant in-game, often finishing fast breaks with a devastating slam. Oladipo praised Wilkins for his style, referring to his ability to dunk “like silk,” which captures the elegance with which Wilkins attacked the rim.

At number two, Oladipo named Michael Jordan, arguably the most iconic player in NBA history. Jordan’s dunks transcended the game, particularly his signature dunk from the free-throw line, which helped solidify his Air Jordan nickname. Jordan’s ability to glide through the air with ease and his body control while mid-flight made his dunks seem almost effortless. His in-game dunks, like his poster on Patrick Ewing, are still replayed decades later, showcasing why he’s regarded as one of the greatest dunkers in NBA history.

At the top of Oladipo’s list, and rightfully so, is Vince Carter, better known as “Vinsanity.” Carter’s dunks are the stuff of legend, from his performance in the 2000 Slam Dunk Contest to his unforgettable dunk over 7-foot-2 French center Frederic Weis in the 2000 Olympics.

Oladipo named him first, describing him as the ultimate dunker. Carter’s mix of creativity, flair, and raw power is unmatched, and many consider him the greatest dunker in basketball history. Whether it was his windmills, 360s, or reverse jams, Carter’s ability to entertain and electrify with every dunk has earned him the top spot on nearly every dunk list, including Oladipo’s.

Victor Oladipo’s list of the top five dunkers of all time is a celebration of some of the most athletic and entertaining players the NBA has ever seen. From the brute force of Blake Griffin and LeBron James to the graceful power of Dominique Wilkins and Michael Jordan, and finally, the unmatched creativity of Vince Carter, these players have left an indelible mark on the game through their iconic dunks.

For fans of high-flying basketball, Oladipo’s selections are a fitting tribute to the best dunkers to ever play the game.
