Tuesday night’s game was a significant one for Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo. While witnessing his team secure a 123-99 victory over the Dallas Mavericks is noteworthy, Antetokounmpo saw his youngest brother, Alex Antetokounmpo, score his first NBA points.
Giannis Antetokounmpo was visibly emotional after seeing Alex score his first point. After Alex sank a free throw, Giannis’ response was one of immense pride. While celebrating the basket, he turned to the bench and exclaimed:
“Hey, man. I can retire now. I’ve done it all, man. I can retire now.”

Alex Antetokounmpo checked into the game with 2:48 seconds left in the fourth quarter. After being fouled in the act of shooting, he earned a trip to the free-throw line. Although he missed his first free-throw attempt, likely due to nerves, the 24-year-old soon gathered his bearings.
Alex finished the game with three points on 3-4 shooting from the charity stripe. To celebrate his debut, after the game, Antetokounmpo even gave his youngest brother the game ball.

While the stat line isn’t impressive by any means, it is evidently significant to Giannis Antetokounmpo. Having ensured that all his brothers ended up in the NBA, the Bucks’ superstar has truly accomplished something unique.
Will Giannis Antetokounmpo Stay With The Bucks?
Giannis Antetokounmpo’s future with the Milwaukee Bucks has been one of the most widely discussed topics in NBA circles. Although the superstar has expressed his desire to remain with the franchise, his inclination to be a part of a title-contending roster may also dictate his future.
Milwaukee came up short in securing a playoff position this season, posting a 30-45 record (11th in the East). While this could affect Antetokounmpo’s decision, Alex Antetokounmpo certainly hopes his brother will choose to stay.
“I don’t know. I hope. We all love him here in Milwaukee. We all want him to stay here in Milwaukee. So, whatever he decides,” Alex Antetokounmpo shared. “I’m his family. When I say his family, his kids, and wife decide, it’s going to be what’s best.”
While Antetokounmpo’s brothers and family may have a significant say in his eventual decision, it is glaringly obvious that there is some tension between the superstar and the organization.
With the Bucks forcibly shutting Giannis Antetokounmpo down for the season, the superstar may have some things to say once the offseason begins. While last year’s offseason arc was largely underwhelming, there is some optimism that things may be different this time around if Antetokounmpo truly wishes to part with the Bucks.
