NBA 2K25 Releases 20-11 Players’ Ranking List: Anthony Edwards Doesn’t Make The Top 10

NBA 2K25 is set to release two weeks from now on Sept. 6, and 2K has revealed the players who just failed to make the top 10 in ratings. The list from 20 to 11 is now out, with Anthony Edwards, Jaylen Brown, and Victor Wembanyama being the headline acts.

20. Ja Morant – 90

19. Tyrese Haliburton – 90

18. Victor Wembanyama – 91

17. Kawhi Leonard – 92

16. Kyrie Irving – 92

15. Jaylen Brown – 92

14. Donovan Mitchell – 92

13. Jalen Brunson – 93

12. Devin Booker – 93

11. Anthony Edwards – 93

Ja Morant comes in at No. 20 with a rating of 90. Morant had a rating of 92 in NBA 2K24 and it’s not a surprise to see him get a downgrade, after playing just nine games last season due to suspension and injuries. Expect the Memphis Grizzlies star to be much closer to the top 10 next year if the injury bug doesn’t strike again.

Tyrese Haliburton also got a 90 rating and unlike Morant, that’s an upgrade. Haliburton was an 88 in the last edition and deserved a bump, after averaging 20.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, 10.9 assists, 1.2 steals, and 0.7 blocks per game in the 2023-24 campaign for the Indiana Pacers.

Victor Wembanyama got an ever bigger upgrade than Haliburton, going from 84 in 2K24 to 91 here, and I can’t say it is undeserved. Wembayama had one of the greatest rookie seasons in recent NBA history, averaging 21.4 points, 10.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.2 steals, and 3.6 blocks per game for the San Antonio Spurs in 2023-24.

Former Spur Kawhi Leonard has been given a rating of 92, and that’s down from 94 in the last edition. I think a drop of two is probably a bit harsh after Leonard averaged 23.7 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.6 steals, and 0.9 blocks per game for the Los Angeles Clippers in 2023-24. I’d say he played better than he did in 2022-23, so the downgrade doesn’t make a lot of sense.

Kyrie Irving, meanwhile, has seen his stock rise a fair bit over the last year, so it isn’t surprising to see him go from 90 in the last edition to 92 now. Irving averaged 25.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, 5.2 assists, 1.3 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game in 2023-24 and helped the Dallas Mavericks make it to the NBA Finals.

Irving and the Mavericks lost to the Boston Celtics in the Finals and Jaylen Brown was a big reason why. Brown is the reigning ECF MVP and NBA Finals MVP and sees his rating jump from 89 in the last edition to 92 here. Some might argue he deserves to be even higher, but I think it’s a fair rating.

Donovan Mitchell is next and is the only one among these 10 not to see his rating change from the last edition. Mitchell averaged 26.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, 6.1 assists, 1.8 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game for the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2023-24 to remain a 92.

There has been a big change when it comes to Jalen Brunson, though, as he has seen a jump in rating from 88 in the last edition to 93. It is a richly deserved upgrade too, after Brunson averaged 28.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, 6.7 assists, and 0.9 steals per game for the New York Knicks in 2023-24.

Devin Booker has received a small downgrade, meanwhile, from 94 in 2K24 to 93 here. Booker put up good averages of 27.1 points, 4.5 rebounds, 6.9 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.4 blocks per game in 2023-24, but the Phoenix Suns getting swept in the first round might have played a role in him dropping a little bit.

It was Anthony Edwards and his Minnesota Timberwolves who swept the Suns and they eventually made it all the way to the Western Conference Finals. Edwards averaged 25.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.1 assists, 1.3 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game in 2023-24 and I fully expect him to be in the top 10 next year.

Thanks to this ratings reveal we know the players who will be in the top 10 this time around. Nikola Jokic, Luka Doncic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Joel Embiid, LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jayson Tatum, and Anthony Davis will be in it and the only question is what order will they be in.
