Devin Booker has shared one of the coldest photos of the 2024 Team USA at the Olympics after their 122-87 win over Brazil in the quarter-finals. All 12 members of the team sat on some steps after the win, with a phenomenal picture featuring all of them being shared on Booker’s Instagram story.

Their quarter-final win over Brazil was one of their most impressive performances of the tournament, with the USA controlling the pace of the game from the opening tip. Six players scored double-digit points, led by Devin Booker’s 18 points (6-9 FG, 5-7 3PT). LeBron James led the team in assists with nine dimes while Anthony Davis pulled down eight rebounds.

Joel Embiid had one of his best games in the national team jersey, ending the game with 14 points (5-6 FG) and seven rebounds. He started the first half without missing a single shot, proving to everyone that he’s finally adjusted to FIBA basketball. There’s no rotation controversy either, as all 12 players played in the win.

Team USA has been dominating at the Olympics so far. Even after a few shaky and nervous wins during the exhibitions, the USA has easily gotten past every opponent put in front of them. They hope to make it to the final with another win over Nikola Jokic‘s Serbia. This could potentially be Team USA’s third win over Serbia this summer, having beaten them in the group stages and an exhibition game in Abu Dhabi.

LeBron James Suffers Near-Eye Injury During The Win

One thing that isn’t obvious to viewers in the picture is the bruise on LeBron James’ right eye. For anyone who was tuned into the game, they’ll know that James suffered a nasty near-eye injury which caused the four-time champion to bleed on the court and later get four stitches to close the wound

The injury hasn’t dampened the mood for the team, as indicated in Booker’s picture, but might lead to issues on the court against Serbia. James is the connective tissue of this team, finding a way to orchestrate this mishmash of the most talented American players in the world into a cohesive on-court unit. These players barely play with each other and don’t have the same continuity as Serbia, France, and Germany.

If James has to miss a game, the USA will be left with a huge playmaking hole that they’ll likely fill with the likes of Devin Booker, Jrue Holiday, and Stephen Curry. All three are competent passers but none of them would qualify as playmakers, with Tyrese Haliburton the only one who fits the bill on the roster. Haliburton has barely played for Team USA, so imagining him suddenly getting a huge role is not realistic.

James will likely cover up his injury and be on the court for the contest against Serbia, as the team will require his presence on the court to put Serbia away, once and for all, allowing James and Davis to get some type of revenge for the consecutive eliminations Jokic and the Nuggets have handed them in the Playoffs.
