Durant’s scoring spree began with a three-pointer, setting the tone for what would be a perfect shooting half. He went 8-for-8 from the field, including a remarkable 5-for-5 from beyond the arc in just 8 minutes of action.

His teammates continuously found him in advantageous positions, and Durant did not disappoint, converting every opportunity into points.

As the leading scorer in Team USA history, Durant reminded everyone why he holds that title. His ability to make difficult shots look effortless was on full display. Each basket seemed more challenging than the last, yet Durant consistently rose to the occasion.

The highlight of his performance came with a buzzer-beater at the end of the first half. Coming off a corner screen, he received the ball and, despite being tightly guarded, nailed a turning fadeaway shot with incredible difficulty.

At halftime, Team USA held a solid 58-49 lead over Serbia, thanks in large part to Durant’s impeccable shooting. LeBron James also contributed significantly, having a flawless half himself with 12 points and 5 assists on 5-for-5 shooting.

On the other side, Nikola Jokic had a great half for Serbia. The Serbian star put up impressive numbers in just 15 minutes of play, scoring 12 points, grabbing 2 rebounds, dishing out 4 assists, and securing 2 steals while shooting 4-5 from the field. His performance kept Serbia competitive, providing a much-needed boost to his team’s efforts

Durant’s return and immediate impact were crucial for Team USA, as his scoring outburst provided a significant boost against a strong Serbian team. His performance not only highlighted his skill and resilience but also underscored his importance to the squad as they aim for Olympic gold.

With Durant and James leading the charge, Team USA’s prospects look bright, and their first-half dominance against Serbia is a promising sign of what could be a successful campaign in the Paris 2024 Olympics.
