Gilbert Arenas broke the internet after his federal agents arrested him for allegedly running an illegal gambling business at his mansion in Encino, LA. The former NBA star, alongside five other defendants, including a person suspected of being a high-ranking member of an Israeli transnational crime group, was arrested on Wednesday, July 30, by the Justice Department following a federal indictment.
Kwame Brown, Arenas’ former teammate with the Wizards, found this as a reason to celebrate and expressed his opinion on the arrest and the aftermath. He first called out Gilbert Arenas for talking about him and his family before he ripped into the former NBA star on a live stream.
“I told people one thing, I said, ‘this n**** is a stupid mother*****, he’s going to self-sabotage. He’s a dummy. And look at this stupid mother****,” said Brown in a celebratory mood. He also called out Shannon Sharpe, who parted ways with ESPN on the same day as Arenas’ arrest.
“Today is like my mother***ing birthday…. B***h, you said I was drunk, I don’t even drink… I feel so good… Shannon Sharpe, your big talking-a** fired. All them mother****ers that talk about my momma’s son. Shannon Sharpe, your thick tongue a** fired. God damn, Gil, you’re in the slammer.”
“You’re facing fifteen years, five years on each charge, right? But your dumba** was playing cards with the Israeli Mob. So now you’re going to have to make a decision. You can’t snitch, because your dumba** said you’re ‘No Chill Gil’ so you can’t chill. You’ve got to fight this one out.”
“Your bi***a** can’t tell on them Israelis, them mother****ers got so much money,” warned Brown, hinting at potentially bad consequences for snitches. So Brown seemed to be content in thinking Arenas is going to have to spend 15 years in prison if found guilty of all three charges.
Arenas is charged with one count of conspiracy to operate an illegal gambling business, one count of operating an illegal gambling business, and one count of making false statements to federal investigators. At his arraignment, he pleaded “not guilty” to all charges as a trial date was set for late September.
Brown did not stop there; he went on to accuse Arenas of also ruining Nick Young, a.k.a. Swaggy P’s career. Brown claims Nick Young became the collateral damage to Gilbert Arenas’ actions multiple times in his career.
“You f***ed up Swaggy P’s career the first time. Swaggy P could’ve been a better basketball player than you. You were a dumba** veteran, and you f***ed up Swaggy P’s career. Now you’ve done f***ed up Swaggy P’s second career. Swaggy P is one of the funniest n****s on the show; he’s crazy, almost got in a fight with Kenyon. Now ain’t no more Swaggy P.”

Kwame Brown and Gilbert Arenas never had a harmonious relationship despite being teammates from 2003 to 2005. Their feud became public to the point that they both admitted they do not like each other at all, and Brown even accused Arenas of ruining his career with the Wizards. Now, Brown seems to be having the last laugh as Arenas faces criminal charges that could see him go to prison for multiple years.
