Josh Richardson’s first encounter with Dwyane Wade in 2015 ended up being quite a memorable one, albeit not in the way that he might have imagined. Richardson recently appeared on The OGs Show, where he hilariously recounted seeing Wade with nothing on except for a pair of tights.
“I remember, one of the first days we’re playing pickup, D-Wade had just got back in town,” Richardson said. “We playing like a game already, I see somebody walk in the gym with nothing on but a pair of bright blue tights.”
“Why is he walking to here like that? Where are his pants? He’s like posting people up just with his tights on and I’m just like, ‘I hope this ain’t what it’s gonna be like every day. This is crazy,'” Richardson stated.

Considering co-host Mike Miller, who was once a teammate of Wade’s, was not the least bit surprised to hear that, it appears that wasn’t an uncommon occurrence. Wade always did seem to fancy himself as somewhat of a fashion icon and when you are as great a player as he was, you can get away with wearing whatever you want.
I wouldn’t blame Richardson for being a bit uncomfortable when he saw that, as I doubt he would have seen anyone show up for practice or pickup games like that. He would have gotten used to it at some point along the way, as he and Wade were teammates for two and a half seasons.
The Miami Heat had selected Richardson with the 40th pick of the 2015 NBA Draft and his rookie season would prove to be the last of Wade’s first stint with the franchise. He joined the Chicago Bulls in free agency in 2016 but would be back in Miami soon enough.
Wade spent just one season with the Bulls and joined the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2017. He only ended up spending half a season with the Cavaliers, as they traded him to the Heat at the trade deadline in 2018.
Wade and Richardson were reunited thanks to that move and they would remain teammates for another season and a half. The former then retired in 2019 while the latter was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers as part of the package that brought Jimmy Butler to Miami.
It was only in 2023 that Richardson returned to the Heat in free agency. In his first season back, the 30-year-old averaged 9.9 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 0.6 steals, and 0.3 blocks per game.
Josh Richardson Shared His All-Time Starting Five Of Players He Played With
Richardson has now played for six different teams in nine seasons in the NBA. Thanks to that, he has had the pleasure to share a locker room with quite a few special players and was asked during this episode to give his all-time starting five from among them.
“I’mma go D-Wade, Luka (Doncic), (Jayson) Tatum, Joel (Embiid), (Chris) Bosh,” Richardson said. “… I’ll come off the bench, I’ll be sixth man.”

That is quite an impressive starting lineup. You could perhaps make a case for Butler or Bam Adebayo to get in, but that’s about it.
Wade was one of the best players in the NBA at his peak while Chris Bosh was a perennial All-Star. Luka Doncic, Joel Embiid, and Jayson Tatum, meanwhile, are among the best of the best in the league today.
