The Boston Celtics are looking like the best NBA team this season by some distance and will hope to convert a 65-win pace in the regular season to a championship. They still take the time to delve into their personal interests, as Taylor Snow has revealed the movie villains that each Celtics named to him as their favorite all-time.

“Jaylen Brown – Thanos

Oshae Brissett – Green Goblin

Luke Kornet – personal trauma in Good Will Hunting

Jayson Tatum – Alonzo Harris

Sam Hauser – The Joker

Svi Mykhailiuk– The Joker

Al Horford– The Joker

Jrue Holiday – The Joker/Bane

Derrick White – Bane”

The names used are solid, with some of the best supervillains in modern media history being named. Four players naming The Joker was not surprising, as many cite Joker as one of the greatest supervillains of all time, especially after the portrayal of the character by Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight.

Another popular Batman villain from The Dark Knight series was Bane, who was portrayed by Tom Hardy in The Dark Knight Rises. Given the amount of power and gravitas both these characters had, it’s not surprising to see over half the list be about just these two characters.

Only two players went towards Marvel villains, with Jaylen Brown naming Thanos, the primary antagonist in Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame. Thanos was arguably one of the most popular pop culture characters in the world during 2018 and 2019 with the incredible popularity of both those films.

Oshae Brissett was the only one to go in the Spider-Man route, naming the Green Goblin as his choice. There are various portrayals of Green Goblin over the last 20 years but the most memorable one comes with Willem Dafoe in the Sam Raimi Spiderman trilogy. Dafoe also reprised the role for the 2021 release of Spiderman: No Way Home.

Jayson Tatum steered away from comic books by naming Denzel Washington’s character in Training Day, Detective Alonzo Harris, a crooked cop.

The funniest answer had to be what backup center Luka Kornet said, as picking ‘personal trauma from Goodwill Hunting’ as the ultimate supervillain is hilarious and surprisingly accurate given the parameters of the question.
