A Tennessee woman has filed a lawsuit against Knicks owner James Dolan and also Harvey Weinstein for sexual misconduct. The suit was filed by Kellye Croft who alleges that Dolan brought her to California and ‘set her up’ through manipulation to be abused by disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein.

“I have suffered so profoundly because of what James Dolan and Harvey Weinstein did to me years ago, and it was not an easy decision to come forward and seek justice. But for me, to truly address my trauma, I need to seek accountability. James Dolan manipulated me, brought me to California to abuse me, and then set me up for a vicious attack by Weinstein. My hope is that my lawsuit will force Dolan to acknowledge what he did to me and to take responsibility for the harm he has caused.”

According to the filed lawsuit, the incident took place in 2013 when Croft was working as a massage therapist on a tour with the Eagles. Dolan’s band was opening for the Eagles. During the end of the tour, Croft alleges that a consensual massage with Dolan turned inappropriate when Dolan forced her hand between his knees. The victim also alleges that this led to her being summoned to Dolan’s room multiple times during the tour and that she felt ‘obligated to have sex’ with Dolan after his numerous advances.

During a trip to Los Angeles in January 2014, Croft claims to have met Weinstein while going to meet Dolan. Weinstein allegedly invited her to discuss opportunities as a masseuse in Hollywood. This led to an encounter where Weinstein asked Croft for a massage, which she declined using the lack of a massage table as the excuse.

This led to Weinstein dressing in a loose bathrobe and insisting on a message, which prompted Croft to go to her room with Weinstein following her to retrieve the massage table. The former producer, who is serving 23 years in jail for sex crimes, allegedly assaulted Croft.

Croft claims that Dolan was aware of what happened and called Croft’s room while Weinstein was present. She also says that Dolan admitted to her that Weinstein had a history of sexual abuse. Croft’s suit has named Dolan, Weinstein, Dolan’s band JD & The Straight Shot, along with The Azoff Company.

Responses From James Dolan And Adam Silver

James Dolan’s lawyer has stated The Athletic, claiming that these statements are meritless and that Kellye Croft is making up the story, with the references to Weinstein being intentionally inflammatory.

“There is absolutely no merit to any of the allegations against Mr. Dolan,” Dolan’s lawyer E. Danya Perry said in a statement provided to The Athletic. “Kellye Croft and James Dolan had a friendship. The references to Harvey Weinstein are simply meant to inflame and appear to be plagiarized from prior cases against Mr. Weinstein.”

Adam Silver fielded a question about Dolan at a recent press conference but had a cagey response, clearly waiting to know more before he can freely comment about a case against an acting NBA Governor.

“I saw the article and don’t know anything else about it other than I read the article,” Silver said. “We’ll stand by and wait to find out more information.”

James Dolan’s organization has been sued for sexual harassment before during Isiah Thomas’ disastrous stint as the General Manager of the Knicks. That case led to Dolan paying $11.6 million to the complainant Anucha Browne Sanders.
