Kevin Durant Calls Out Haters Because Of Parlays: “When I Get Ya Paid, U Don’t DM Me And Send A Small Percentage”

Kevin Durant doesn't like fans criticizing him for a performance because they missed a parlay.

Kevin Durant has become the latest in a long line of players that is getting sick of fans coming after them because of sports betting. NBA fans often harass players on social media after they fail to reach statistical barriers and break their parlays. Durant doesn’t care about your parlays, and he made it clear on social media earlier today.

“When I get ya paid, you don’t DM me and send a small percentage to my cashapp but when them parlays don’t hit, I’m every name in the book. Yall ain’t real.”

When I get ya paid, u don’t DM me and send a small percentage to my cashapp but when them parlays don’t hit, I’m every name in the book. Yall ain’t real

After a fan explained to Durant that he was a multi-millionaire and he shouldn’t have a problem with fans making hundreds or thousands of dollars by betting on him, a sentiment Durant agreed with. The fan referred to the money fans make as band-aids in front of the multi-millionaire Durant.

“A couple band aids got me crying. You’re right though, let me delete my tweet.”

🤣🤣🤣 couple band aids got me cryin. U right tho, lemme delete my tweet https://t.co/eyLUhKG7ex

The expansion of sports betting and the growing legalization of the same has led to a sports betting boom. Betting on sports doesn’t involve shady dealings with shady people anymore, it’s just an app on your phone.

With fans missing out on parlays worth thousands of dollars because of one player, it often leads to a lot of hate thrown towards the player, which is affecting modern NBA athletes. The NBA has official betting partners, so there’s no doubt that the league is happy about fans engaging with their sport like this.

Terry Rozier And Malik Monk Have Also Called Out Fans Over Sports Betting

Over the last year, we’ve had two major players call out fans on social media for betting. Malik Monk is the latest person to let fans know that he doesn’t care about their parlays, tweeting the same after a Kings game this season.

Idc bout yall parlays

— Malik Monk (@AhmadMonk) November 9, 2023

Terry Rozier was harassed by a fan towards the end of last season on Instagram DMs for selling on a parlay. Rozier had an expletive-laden response, letting the fan know that he doesn’t care about parlays.

It’s clear these players just want to focus on hooping and not worry about costing other people money. It’s not their business but sports betting fans attack these players harder for busting a parlay than they do for any on-court activity.

Can Kevin Durant Win A Championship With The Phoenix Suns?

Kevin Durant wants to win another title before his career is over, and Durant wants the Phoenix Suns to be the franchise he wins with. His co-star Devin Booker is one of the premier guards in the NBA. If Bradley Beal could remain healthy, the Suns would’ve had a great shot at winning the title this year.

Unfortunately, Beal’s consistent injury problems mean we still don’t know if he’s going to be available to play beyond the three weeks he’s been ruled out for. Back injuries are very hard to come back from, and Beal has to deal with that before even thinking about winning a title.

Durant is averaging 31.4 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 5.5 assists this season. This is one of his best starts in many years, with him hoping that a title lies at the end of this season. I don’t think the Suns can win it this year due to the incomplete nature of their roster, but everything is possible when they have a dynamic duo of KD and Booker for now.
