Victor Wembanyama earned plaudits around the world with his mega-viral disguise as ‘Slenderman’ on Halloween. While it may be impossible to top what Victor did, there’s another Wembanyama who may have outdone him. His sister, Eve, decided to dress up as her brother. The costume was pretty convincing, with a fake beard, a bald head, and even full Spurs attire.

It wasn’t like her brother’s incredible costume or even other NBA players such as Giannis Antetokounmpo and LeBron James. Nonetheless, it’s a heartwarming gesture given Wemby’s recent emergence as a superstar since being drafted. Dressing up as him makes sense because he’s quite literally a well-known pop culture figure now, and his sister recognized that pretty easily.

Gregg Popovich Speaks To Fadeaway World About Wembanyama

Before their ongoing matchup against the Phoenix Suns, Gregg Popovich spoke to Fadeaway World as part of a media call. He addressed Wembanyama’s strong start to the season with a special emphasis on his three-point ability and whether that’s something the Spurs want Wemby to develop as compared to developing his post game.

“At this point, we’re in observation mode, if that makes any sense. We don’t know what his game is going to be. I think with his height and natural abilities, it’s wiser for me to watch him play and see where he feels comfortable. What are his innate abilities on the court as far as where he can be the most effective? Is it down in the post? On the wing? In transition? Should he be a perimeter player or a post player? Maybe all of the above. I think watching him for a while gives us a good indication of where he fits and what his most significant contributions can be for the team. We’ve given him the freedom to shoot threes and learn. Time and score. What’s an appropriate time for a three and not? What’s a contested three and not? But defense is mandatory, and we’ve spent most of our time disciplining him on that end so he knows what’s required and what’s needed to be a defender in the NBA, whether he guards a big man or a perimeter player, because he will be guarding both. That’s really been the emphasis as we watch him offensively.”

Not long after those comments, Wembanyama had an electric first-half performance against the Phoenix Suns. He already has 20 points with two three-pointers made, as the Spurs dominate the Suns with a score of 75-55 through the first half.

Wemby was crucial in sealing another win over the Suns a few days ago, putting up a clutch putback dunk before Keldon Johnson sealed the win. He is averaging 16.3 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks as a rookie, maintaining his position as the favorite to win.
