Jones was dancing to Drake’s Rich Baby Daddy, featuring Sexyy Red and SZA. While listening to the song would have been nothing noteworthy, that dance is incredibly weird. You wonder what exactly is going through Jones’ mind when he puts out these things, as you can’t help but think that something is off here.
Terrence Ross expressed some concern regarding Jones’ mental health, and I feel he needs some serious help at this point. Jones is now without a team as well after the Charlotte Hornets waived him earlier this month, and it’s unlikely anyone will take a chance on him as long as he keeps up these weird antics.
Teams will look the other way if a star player did something along these lines, but not someone like Jones, who averaged 3.4 points, 2.7 rebounds, 0.3 assists, 0.4 steals, and 0.7 blocks per game in the 2022-23 season.

You’d hope that the NBA Players Association is trying in some way to give Jones the help he needs. He might think that everything is fine, but one day he will look back on this time with a great deal of regret unless someone helps him get back on track soon.
He is not a great NBA player by any means, but has some potential, and could still play in the league for a significant period of time if he gets help.
Kai Jones’ Weird Social Media Antics
As for how this downfall began, things started to wrong in September. Back then, Jones was accused of being high on drugs in a controversial Instagram Live video. He claimed he wasn’t on drugs and wasn’t intoxicated either, but not many felt that was the case, with all of his Hornets teammates unfollowing Jones.
Jones then called out his teammates after they unfollowed him, and that’s when the situation really started to worsen. We see players take shots at former teammates fairly often, but not when they’re still on the same team.
Jones’ NSFW DMs with a fan then went viral and his team was just about done with all of his antics at that point. The Hornets proceeded to suspend Jones from team activities in late September and just over a week later, he took to social media to make an announcement.
Jones bizarrely posted on X that he has officially requested to be traded from the Hornets. The team instead, of course, waived him and we haven’t heard anything on another team even considering the prospect of having him onboard. Just two years ago, he was a first-round draft pick, and it’s sad to see how things have panned out.
