Superstars Kevin Durant and LeBron James have not faced off against one another in a competitive game since 2018, and many are excited about their upcoming regular season matchup. Though Durant’s Phoenix Suns will not be at full strength to face James and the Los Angeles Lakers, it will still be fun to see the two superstars hoop.

There is no doubt that Durant has a lot of respect for James. Durant has faced James in the Finals during his time with the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Golden State Warriors, and he knows just how good James was at his best. Even now, James is still playing at a high level, and he dropped 21 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists on 10-16 shooting during the Lakers’ game against the Denver Nuggets in the opener.

It will be interesting to see how James and Durant perform during this upcoming game. Both players will likely come out motivated to face one another, and perhaps that will make for some exciting basketball.

Kevin Durant Had Good Things To Say After Facing LeBron James In Preseason

Earlier this year, we saw Durant and James face against one another in the preseason. Though he only played a few minutes, Durant had some things to say about his clash with James.

“It’s always dope being on the floor with one of the best to ever do it, top five best to ever do it,” Durant said, via The Arizona Republic. “It brings the best out of everybody in the arena, the fans, the workers, the players, the coaches. So, it’s always an honor no matter what the capacity is. It could be a pickup game. We bring the best out of everybody.”

There is no doubt that any game where Durant faces James is must-watch basketball. After all, both players are legends of the game and have huge fanbases all over the world. Hopefully, this upcoming game is a good one, and we’ll see what ends up happening later on.

Kevin Durant And LeBron James Are Both Doing Well Given Their Age

As of right now, Durant and James are both showcasing their elite longevity. Both players are hooping at a superstar level despite being 35 and 39 years old respectively. It is absolutely insane that they are able to play the way they are, and fans should cherish it while they still can.

It will be interesting to see how long Durant and James can keep up their performances. They are still top 10 players in the NBA, and can still help their teams win championships right now. However, Father Time comes for everyone, and sooner or later both players will likely start to decline.

Hopefully, though, we see both Durant and James continue to hoop for at least a few more years. The game will not be the same once they retire, and perhaps they can still add more chapters to their legacy before it is all said and done.
