Former Rockets guard Kevin Porter Jr. is trending on social media after his ex-girlfriend, Kysre Gondrezick, denied the reported series of events that took place on September 4th of this year. As the former NBA guard faces potential jail time for the incident, which was classified as domestic abuse, fans were shocked to hear that Gondrezick has since refuted the claim that Porter Jr. ever laid his hands on her.

“He didn’t hit me. He never balled his fists up and hit me,” said the former WNBA player,” per the New York Post. “And he definitely didn’t punch me in the face numerous times. That is a lie. I don’t have any injuries to support that.”

As the story goes, Kevin Porter Jr. and Gondrezick got into an argument in their hotel room when ting suddenly turned violent. According to records, the former NBA player started beating on his partner until she was forced to run out into the hallway covered in blood. The injuries were apparently pretty severe, and it was ugly enough that the Rockets immediately severed all ties with Porter Jr.

NBA Fans Accuse Kysre Of Being Bought Out

There’s no question that something violent happened in that New York City hotel room, but only Porter Jr. and Kysre know what really happened that day and if she is claiming that Kevin is innocent, it’s going to be hard for law enforcement to build a case against him. For most fans, however, the notion that there’s any truth to this latest “update” is complete nonsense.

Some fans even accused the Gondrezick of being bought out in some way, in an effort from Porter Jr.’s camp to cover up his baggage.

Needless to say, this development raised much more questions than answers on Porter Jr. and what really happened that night. If he’s innocent, why did the authorities cite multiple injuries after the alleged incident? If it was false the whole time, why is Kysre just now speaking up after Porter Jr. was exiled from the NBA?

What Happens Next?

The police will likely proceed with their case against Kevin Porter Jr., who is facing up to seven years in prison for a mix of charges that include second-degree strangulation and third-degree assault. With a plethora of evidence to use, the police may not need cooperation from Gondrezick to proceed with the case.

But without her testimony and support, this opens up a path to redemption for Porter Jr. If he’s able to put this drama behind him, and stay out of prison, he may be able to convince an NBA team to give him another chance. Before all of the drama ensued, he was showing a lot of promise on the court for Houston with career averages of 19.2 points, 5.7 assists, and 5.3 rebounds per game.on 44.2% shooting through four active seasons. Sadly, this may still be the end for Porter Jr.’s NBA journey, but you can’t say he didn’t have it coming, given his history of shady and questionable actions.
