There is no doubt that Zach LaVine is one of the best shooting guards in the league, and he is widely viewed as the best player on the Chicago Bulls. The guard has been featured in some trade rumors during this past offseason, but ultimately ended up staying put.

Recently, NBA insider Jamal Collier of ESPN revealed that rival teams have actually checked in about Zach LaVine, but nobody wants to pay what it would take to get him.

“Rival teams have checked in with the Bulls about LaVine’s availability, team and league sources told ESPN, but no team has been willing to meet Chicago’s reportedly large asking price. LaVine, 28, is owed $129 million over the next three seasons and owns a $48.9 million dollar player option in 2026-27.”

It is easy to see why the Chicago Bulls would want to receive a lot for LaVine. As of right now, LaVine is still in his prime and is an All-Star-level player. However, it is also understandable that teams are wary to pay a lot to get him, as he has an injury history and will make a huge amount of money for the foreseeable future.

Last season, Zach LaVine averaged 24.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game for the Bulls while shooting 37.5% from 3PT range. He could be a difference-maker for the right team, and we’ll see if he ends up leaving the Bulls in the future.

Zach LaVine Didn’t Expect The Chicago Bulls To Trade Him This Offseason

On his end, it seems as though Zach LaVine was fairly confident that he wasn’t going to get moved by the Chicago Bulls. In fact, LaVine claimed that he didn’t think the Bulls were moving him during the peak of the Damian Lillard trade rumors.

“I don’t see anything happening anytime soon. But if it does, Chicago always has my love.”

Even though LaVine did not get moved this summer, things can change extremely quickly in the NBA. It is quite possible that he will get moved at some point in the future, especially if the Bulls get off to a poor start.

Last season, the Bulls ended up getting eliminated in the play-in tournament by the Miami Heat. The goal for them will be to finish as a sure-fire playoff team in the Eastern Conference, and they definitely have the talent to do so.

The Portland Trail Blazers Had No Interest In Acquiring Zach LaVine

Damian Lillard ultimately went to the Milwaukee Bucks, but at one point, the Bulls were interested in getting him. However, the Trail Blazers were not interested in acquiring their main trade piece, which was Zach LaVine.

“Multiple league sources indicated throughout the offseason that the Trail Blazers showed little interest in acquiring LaVine directly, mostly because he doesn’t match their rebuilding path and commitment to a young backcourt of Scoot Henderson and Anfernee Simons.”

It is true that LaVine doesn’t line up with the team’s current timeline. The team that should get him is a win-now squad, that needs one more difference-maker to win a championship.

As of now, though, LaVine is still on the Bulls and is the team’s leader. We will see if he is able to lead them to the playoffs, and potentially make an All-NBA team while leading the team to wins.
