The Los Angeles Lakers fell short of the NBA championship in 2023, getting swept by the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals. There is no doubt that many were disappointed by this outcome, given the talent on their roster. Superstars LeBron James and Anthony Davis are seemingly extra motivated going into the season after their failure, and ready to take things to the next level.

Coach Darvin Ham recently sent a warning to the NBA, stating that he has noticed his superstars being the “most hungry” in the team’s pursuit of a championship.

“Just his hunger, he and Bron both,” Ham said when asked if he’s noticed any differences in Davis during training camp. “Our two captains are the most hungry. They understand the moment. They not worried about what happened last year or what next year is gonna look like. They’ve submerged themselves into today, and that’s the way you have to be, especially in this business. It’s a marathon. But they’re hungry as ever. They’re intense. We have our fair share of fun for sure, but there’s not a lot of fooling around or goofing off with this group. They’ve set a great tone for everybody being serious about the work that needs to be put in.”

There is no doubt that this is good news for Los Angeles Lakers fans. The team’s superstars clearly want championship success this season and will settle for nothing less. Their preparation for the season shows just how dedicated they are to winning, and everyone else will hopefully follow their example.

The Los Angeles Lakers Have A Plan To Keep LeBron James Healthy In Year 21

The Los Angeles Lakers’ championship chances hinge on their ability to keep LeBron James healthy. He will turn 39 in December, and it is clear that he is getting to the part of his career where nagging injuries continue to plague him. However, it seems as though the team has a plan, and Darvin Ham previously explained how the Lakers will keep James healthy in year 21.

“Just kind of easing into it,” Ham said of the plan for James. “The fact that our roster is what it is, he doesn’t have to come start the season with his cape on, so to speak. … The help that he has around him will allow him to not have to be full throttle in every practice and every preseason game.”

It is true that the Los Angeles Lakers have a lot of depth this season. Players like Austin Reaves and D’Angelo Russell can take on ballhandling duties, meaning there is less pressure on James during the regular season. Others, like Christian Wood and Anthony Davis, can also focus on scoring. Hopefully, James doesn’t have to exert himself too much during the regular season, and we’ll see what happens in the future.

The Lakers Are Clearly One Of The Best Teams In The Western Conference

The Los Angeles Lakers have managed to surround LeBron James and Anthony Davis with quality pieces ahead of next season. Everyone on the team knows how to play in a limited role and fit in around the superstars.

The key for the team will be to ensure that all their talent is able to work together. The team has around 8-10 players who can play good minutes aside from James and Davis, and there will be some players who will have less playing time than others and will have to find a way to impact the game in their minutes.

It remains to be seen how the Los Angeles Lakers will do going into next season. They have a high ceiling as a team, but the key for the franchise will be cohesiveness and chemistry.
