Recently, Gilbert Arenas revealed Damian Lillard’s feelings about the move. Lillard is happy about joining the Bucks and stated that people will now realize that he’s “one of those guys” who are at the top of the league.

“I am [happy],” Lillard said to Arenas via text. “I think it will finally come to light that I’m one of those guys at the very top. They have discredited me for years without acknowledgment, how I was never on even close to even playing field with everybody else.” (3:30)

There is no doubt that Damian Lillard has been overlooked by many people simply because he played for the small-market Trail Blazers. His only All-Star teammate during his career has been LaMarcus Aldridge, and he has never gotten to play with a talented star like Giannis Antetokounmpo. Now, Lillard will get the opportunity to show that he can win at a high level.

This past season, Damian Lillard averaged 32.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 7.3 assists per game for the Portland Trail Blazers. He can be a game-changing presence for the Milwaukee Bucks, and we’ll see how well the team does next season.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Is Excited For Damian Lillard To Join The Milwaukee Bucks

There’s no doubt that Damian Lillard is a good fit with Giannis Antetokounmpo. The duo’s skill sets truly complement each other. Antetokounmpo’s first reaction to Lillard joining the Bucks was positive, and he noted that Lillard gives the team a chance to win a championship.

“I’m excited to have Dame. He gives us a chance to win a championship. I’m excited to play with the caliber of player that he is. He can score the ball in his sleep and shoot the lights out.”

“It’s a bittersweet day for the city of Milwaukee. You get Dame, who is a great player, but you lose a great guy… But we’ve got to focus on the goal to win the championship. Dame wants this. He’s hungry to win, and he’s going to push us. I’m very happy to have him on our team.”

The Milwaukee Bucks could definitely find success with the Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard pairing. The team has the talent to win it all, and it’ll be exciting to see the two superstars develop their partnership.

The Milwaukee Bucks Are The Favorites In The East

At this point, it is fair to say that the Milwaukee Bucks are the favorites in the Eastern Conference. They have two superstar-level players on the roster and are easily the best duo in the conference.

However, there are definitely some other good teams in the East. The Boston Celtics are still going to be in the mix, and the Philadelphia 76ers might also end up as an elite team if they can find a suitable trade partner for James Harden.

There are definitely reasons to be concerned about the Milwaukee Bucks, however. They lost some perimeter defense due to moving Jrue Holiday and Grayson Allen, and their core is still relatively old.

From a talent standpoint though. It is hard to see anyone surpassing the Milwaukee Bucks. The key is for the team to integrate Lillard and ensure that both he and Antetokounmpo can be at their best, and we’ll see what happens in the future.
