• Fans are already hyping up the 2023-24 Los Angeles Lakers

• The team was spotted after a team workout over the weekend

• The unity of the team is convincing fans they’re title contenders this season

The Los Angeles Lakers have created an incredible team for the upcoming season, being touted as among the favorites to win the title. While there are a lot of changes that need to be incorporated by the franchise, it will be fascinating to see how they manage to make a final push for the title before LeBron James eventually decides to step away from the game or leave the team to play with his son, Bronny.

The team is already working out together ahead of the start of training camp. A video of them exiting a practice session is going viral, with LeBron, Anthony Davis, Rui Hachimura, D’Angelo Russell, and others being spotted leaving a training center and waving to fans.

The new-look Lakers have a number of strong offseason additions such as Gabe Vincent, Christian Wood, Taurean Prince, Jaxson Hayes, and Cameron Reddish, among others. However, building continuity and chemistry will take some time as the team completes the process of incorporating the stars they acquired in February.

Given the quick integration of players from their February trade, fans think the Lakers are title contenders this season after a very strong offseason.

Fans Expect To See The Lakers Win A Title

This is the most positive Laker fans have been going into a season since the 2020-21 season. That season was spoiled due to injuries but that hasn’t stopped fans from predicting a title-win for the Lakers at the end of the 2023-24 season.

A Timberwolves fan came out and admitted that this is the Lakers year.

Fans were happy to see the team already putting in work in the gym together before the start of training camp.

A fan thinks this is the last year the Lakers can compete for a title.

Fans were excited to see the team be locked in already.

The energy around the fanbase and the roster is amazing right now, as fans believe that this is the start of something special.

One fan compared the start of this season to the start of last year, where a disastrous offseason made people think the Lakers wouldn’t even be in the playoff mix.

Even with all the positivity, some fans think nothing will be enough to stop the Denver Nuggets and Nikola Jokic.

Training camps open on October 3rd, so these are still unofficial meetups. Darvin Ham also being there is a little too on the nose, but NBA rules expressly forbid teams from meeting up at team facilities together. After October 3, the Lakers will be seen full-time at their own practice facility. This video was shot in San Diego.

The Lakers Last Chance To Contend With LeBron James

When you look at the Lakers roster, you can see that Rob Pelinka has done a phenomenal job at locking down the core of the roster for multiple years. Not only that, there isn’t a single overpay on the roster. On the other hand, it seems most re-signings were cheaper than they would’ve been on the open market.

Jarred Vanderbilt was advised not to re-sign because he stood a chance to make more next season, Austin Reaves could’ve been a $100 million player if the Spurs extended him an offer sheet, and D’Angelo Russell’s contract is being called the steal of the summer. Everyone is here long-term, except LeBron James.

LeBron could be a free agent next summer if he declines his player option. The health of Bronny James is unclear and we do not know if he’s still on track to declare for the 2024 NBA Draft. If he does do that, there is a high chance that James will opt out and sign with a team to play alongside his son.

If that happens, this is the last year of the Lakers’ contending window with James. As a result, the soon-to-be 39-year-old will have extra motivation to ensure he can bring another championship banner to the Lakers and officially overtake the Boston Celtics to become the most successful franchise in NBA history.
