  • Michael Jordan once had a picture with Skepta in the frame
  • Jordan was accused of hating rap music once

Dressed in a silk suit with a cigar in his mouth, Jordan was seen striking quite the pose with the rapper, who was in an all-black outfit with a cigar in his hand as well. This led to fans sharing their two cents on Instagram. From genuine interest to trolling both Jordan and the MC, there were ample responses.

“Jordan taking pictures with rappers? Since when?”

“Maybe he thought it was Kenny Lattimore”

“Stop playing, that’s a young Vince Carter”

“I have never heard of Skepta”

“Bone cold picture”

“When was this taken?”

“Maybe MJ didn’t know who it was”

“This is the most random picture that’s posted. Skepta goes hard though”

Given the array of responses, there’s no doubt that eagle-eyed fans will now look for a connection between the two stars.

If anything, chances are that they bumped into a party, given Jordan’s choice of clothes, and that Skepta could be a fan, or vice-versa. But this image is one for the ages and surely is a rare sight.

Rapper N.O.R.E. Infamously Said Michael Jordan Hated Rap Music

Like everyone else, Michael Jordan has his tastes, and according to rapper N.O.R.E., hip-hop wasn’t one of them.

“Jordan is a hater of hip hop. He only likes Hov (Jay-Z). That’s it. It’s Hov and that’s it,” he recalled in a previous interview, per HotnewHipHop.

“I’ve seen him shut Redman down. I’ve seen him shut down Redman at a Def Jam Christmas Party. We were all sitting there waiting to speak to Michael Jordan, and I said ‘Yo Redman and Method Man are here’ and he said ‘F— rap.’ I seen (him) say that.”

That said, Jordan’s representative quashed the theory saying Jordan appreciated all forms and genres of music to TMZ soon after. “Drake is in his brand, and Nelly is a partner of his with the Charlotte Hornets,” she said.

There’s no claim otherwise about Jordan’s distaste for rap. The picture though surely suggests that the Bulls icon doesn’t hate rap music.

Michael Jordan Loves Kenny Lattimore

‘The Last Dance’ confirmed that Michael Jordan loves Kenny Lattimore. And that’s American R&B for those unaware.

In the early scenes from Episode 10 of the ESPN and Netflix docuseries on the 1997-98 Michael Jordan-led Chicago Bulls, the legend was seen jamming to an unreleased track of Lattimore’s sitting at the back of the bus.

Lattimore confirmed the news himself when he responded to a fan query about what Jordan was listening to.

“In 1998 I sent Michael Jordan an advanced copy of my ‘From the Soul of Man’ album,” he tweeted. “Who knew ‘Days Like This’ was his pre-game hype song though?”

Jordan, who had a copy of Lattimore’s newest album, was listening to “From the Soul of Man,” which wasn’t released until October 1998, four months later than when Jordan was actually getting an early jump on the music.

Irrespective of his music preferences, there’s no doubt that Jordan had his head in the game when he took the court. Whether it was Lattimore’s tunes that would play when he would close out games or whether it was some old-fashioned hip-hop, nobody will ever know.
