Video: Klay Thompson Has Fans In Splits After Saying He Wants Five Rings Like Thanos

"I’m trying to get five rings like Thanos," Klay Thompson said while looking at a Thanos lifesize statue during his China tour.

  • Klay Thompson is in China as part of his Anta sneaker deal
  • The sharpshooter saw Thanos and immediately said he wanted five rings like the MCU villain
  • Thompson will look to win his fifth ring with the Warriors in the upcoming season

Golden State Warriors superstar Klay Thompson is having quite the ball in China, and he recently made it clear he wants just as many Infinity Stones as MCU’s big bad Thanos.

Except, Thompson ended up calling it rings instead of stones, but in a show of good sportsmanship, he wasn’t roasted by Marvel fans for the error. But for the NBA fandom, they know what he’s talking about.

The Warriors star has four rings and was set to earn his fifth last season, but injuries, inconsistency, and some off-court drama derailed Golden State’s campaign, and they ended their season after bowing out of the second round of the Western Conference playoffs.

That said, the team is optimistic after making some sharp moves this summer, landing Chris Paul for Jordan Poole, and also signing Draymond Green to an extension. With Stephen Curry looking in good shape, only time will tell if Klay Thompson can make his own Infinity Gauntlet.

Can Klay Thompson Win Another Championship Before Calling Time On His Illustrious Career?

Not many expected Klay Thompson to return after this career-threatening injury, but he made a stellar comeback and played a massive role in the Warriors 2022 championship run.

At 33 and his injury-riddled journey in the league, the consensus is that Thompson isn’t the force he since was. And the numbers show that in the 69 games he played last season, he shot just 43% from the field and 41% from three. And while these are still staggering numbers, it’s a decline from the 45% he would shoot previously.

But now, the Warriors need more of his championship DNA and experience to see them win another title. Couple this with his current level of production and his brilliant teammates, there’s every chance that he will walk away from the game with another ring.
