  • LeBron James’ critics have said he wouldn’t be able to dominate in the 1990s because of the physical nature of that era
  • A fan posted video compilations of LeBron James dealing with hard fouls to counter that argument
  • The video shows that LeBron James has been subjected to hard fouls in his career too, proving his doubts wrong

LeBron James is often doubted by people who suggest that his domination is only thanks to the NBA’s rules on physical play, making the game soft in this era.

This is a lazy argument though, and a fan on social media posted multiple compilations to prove that this line of thinking is just wrong.

A lot of these plays are non-basketball moves and count as serious flagrant fouls. LeBron James’ dominance means that fouling is the only way to stop him at times.

And for those wondering if LeBron James had moments where he overcame the physicality, the fan posted another compilation of him finishing through the contact.

LeBron James has played 20 seasons in the NBA, playing 60 games or more in 16 of those. He has averaged 27.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, 7.5 assists, and 1.5 steals per game for that stretch, which is absurd.

LeBron James is an athletic freak at 6’9, having weighed more than 230 pounds his entire career. No era of basketball. however physical, could stop the King from dominating, he is too big and too talented for that.

LeBron James Would Be A GOAT Candidate Playing In The 1990s Too

There are questions about whether LeBron James would win in the 1990s, and legends from the time, like Dennis Rodman, think their teams would beat LeBron James’ teams too

But as Gilbert Arenas so brilliantly explained recently, LeBron would be unstoppable in the older eras of the game as well.

“LeBron doesn’t have a ticket in his era. He doesn’t have a ticket in his era. Did you put him in an era with no media? He doesn’t have a ticket.

“We’re talking about the image we see. You’re talking about the ’80s and ‘90s stopping a 6’10” 260 man coming downhill? He is the biggest person on the court.”

LeBron James is a complete individual basketball player, he has been a scoring champion in the NBA, an assists leader, and made six All-Defensive Teams. No era in history could put a stop to that type of production.
