Joel Embiid Removed “Philadelphia” As His Location And The Word “Processing” From His Twitter Bio

  • Joel Embiid no longer has Philadelphia as his location or the word “Processing” in his bio
  • Embiid seems to be sending a not-so-cryptic message amid the James Harden-Daryl Morey situation
  • Harden blasted Morey by calling him a liar and said he’d never be a part of the same organization as him

It appears when it rains, it pours in Philadelphia. It was bad enough when James Harden publically called 76ers President Daryl Morey a liar while in China, but now, star big man Joel Embiid seems to be sending a not-very-cryptic message by making some changes to his Twitter profile.

It initially had the location as Philadelphia and the word “Processing”, in reference to the Process era in Philadelphia.

Considering this change came not long after Harden called Morey a liar, you’d assume that Embiid isn’t too happy with what’s going on. If he feels that things are going haywire behind the scenes, then the 29-year-old might want out.

One problem for Embiid, if he does want out, is that the Philadelphia 76ers have a ton of leverage. The six-time All-Star signed a four-year, $213 million extension in 2021 that keeps him under contract through the 2026-27 campaign. He has a player option worth $59 million for that 2026-27 season, so the 76ers are guaranteed to have him for three seasons at least.

Embiid just won the MVP by averaging 33.1 points, 10.2 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.0 steals, and 1.7 blocks in the 2022-23 season, so Morey is not going to let him leave for pennies on the dollar. He has been holding out for a significant offer for Harden, and you can only imagine how big of a package he’d want for Embiid.

Joel Embiid Had Hinted At A Potential Exit Earlier This Offseason

This isn’t the first time that the reigning MVP has somewhat hinted at leaving the 76ers in the future. Embiid stated he is focused on winning a championship in Philly or somewhere else earlier this offseason. It was the first time really that he had given any sort of indication on his future not necessarily being in Philadelphia.

He received some backlash over those comments and Embiid claimed he was trolling, and joked that Morey has taken his spot as the biggest troll on Twitter. It is entirely possible that he will come out and state that he was trolling by making these changes to his profile as well.

Marion’s versatility as a defender and his rebounding prowess, despite being just 6’7”, impressed Gautam immensely. He admired Marion’s finishing ability at the rim and his shooting, despite an unconventional jump shot, believing that Marion’s skill set would have been even more appreciated in today’s NBA.This transformative experience not only deepened his love for basketball but also shaped his approach to sports writing, enabling him to connect with readers through vivid storytelling and insightful analysis.
