  • Jayson Tatum was approached by a Miami Heat fan
  • The fan asked Tatum to join the Heat
  • The superstar hilariously refused

Forward Jayson Tatum is one of the best players in the league today and is almost universally considered to be a top 10 player in the league after his last season with the Boston Celtics. There’s no doubt that a lot of teams would love to have him on their roster.

Recently, we saw a Miami Heat approach Jayson Tatum, asking the superstar to come to the Heat. Despite the fan’s best efforts, Tatum clearly refused, giving the fan a simple one-word response.

Fan: “Come to the Heat!”

Jayson Tatum: “Nah.”

As of right now, it is clear that Jayson Tatum is committed to the Boston Celtics. The team has made four Eastern Conference Finals and one Finals during his tenure with the team, and from a basketball standpoint, there’s no reason for him to leave. He is clearly the face of the franchise, and hopefully, Tatum brings championship success to the Celtics. However, nothing is impossible in the league, and perhaps we’ll see Jayson Tatum in a Miami Heat jersey at one point in his career.

During the 2022-23 regular season, Jayson Tatum averaged 30.1 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game. Hopefully, he has another All-NBA season next year, and the Celtics will certainly be among the championship contenders next season if he plays well.

Jayson Tatum Has Reportedly Recruited Damian Lillard To The Boston Celtics

Beyond his own contributions on the court, it seems as though Damian Lillard is also doing everything else possible to try and win a championship with the Boston Celtics. A previous report revealed that Tatum has recruited point guard Damian Lillard to the Celtics, and it is clear that Lillard could be a difference-making addition to the franchise. The team already made a three-team trade for Kristaps Porzingis this summer, though, and it is unlikely that they have the assets to land Lillard as of right now.

With that being said, Damian Lillard seems pretty adamant about only joining the Miami Heat, which could be what is bringing down his value. The Boston Celtics do have the assets to land one more elite player, though, and perhaps we’ll see them make another move this offseason ahead of the 2023-24 NBA season.
