- Tim Duncan and Stephen Curry are two of the greatest players in NBA history
- They both won two MVPs and led their teams to multiple championships
- Duncan and Curry were also the driving forces for two of the greatest dynasties in the modern NBA
When it comes to the greatest players in NBA history, there might not be two more dissimilar than Tim Duncan and Stephen Curry. There was absolutely nothing flashy about Duncan’s game while Curry is a walking highlight reel thanks to his outside shooting and ball handling.
Despite that difference, they both have enjoyed a tremendous amount of success in the league. NBA fans on Twitter were recently asked to pick who has had the better career between them and while they’re both great, one came out on top by a fair bit.
A fan highlighted Duncan’s accolades to point out that he’s easily better.
the guy who has more rings, 15 all defense teams, 15 all-nba teams, 15 all-star appearances, 2 mvps, and 3 fmvps
respect to Steph tho, quit setting him up lol

Another fan showed how Duncan just has had a better career.
Easy. Duncan:
– Bus Driver for 4 Rings
– Excelled on BOTH Sides of the Ball
– More FMVPs
– More All-NBA
– More All-Defense
– More All-Stars
– 03 Floor Raising Season
– 19 Consecutive Seasons never winning fewer than 50 games (99 and 12 normalized)
It's not that close.

Curry is the more influential player and so a fan is picking him.
Tim Duncan has a great career but Steph Curry is more influential and will be remembered more
I pick curry

A Warriors fan admitted Duncan is far ahead at this point if you go by the accolades.
Duncan by far at the moment (purely accolades)

A fan stated he appreciates how great Curry is but thinks Duncan had a far better career.
i appreciate Steph’s greatness but Duncan clears

It might have been a bit unfair to Curry for this question to be put up, as Duncan’s career would stack up favorably against most people.
He won five championships, three Finals MVPs, and two MVPs while making 15 All-Star teams. Duncan’s 15 total selections to the All-Defensive teams is an NBA record while his 15 selections to the All-NBA teams are tied for second all-time. Simply put, he was on a different level.
Charles Barkley Called Tim Duncan The Greatest Power Forward Ever
Charles Barkley never won a ring, but when he retired in 2000, he was certainly in the conversation for the greatest power forward ever along with Karl Malone. By the time Duncan was done though, there was no longer a need to have any conversation on that topic.
Barkley himself hailed Duncan as the greatest power forward ever which shows how much respect he has for the San Antonio Spurs icon. Even Dirk Nowitzki once stated that Duncan is the greatest power forward ever and the toughest player he ever faced. It is going to take a very special player to displace The Big Fundamental from that top spot someday.
