- The Los Angeles Clippers haven’t shown a lot of seriousness about getting a deal done for James Harden
- James Harden reportedly doesn’t command the same value that he once did, which is stalling negotiations
- James Harden has made it clear that he only wants to join the Los Angeles Clippers
James Harden has asked out of the Philadelphia 76ers, making this his third trade request in the last three years. And he has a location in mind where he wants to end up too, the Los Angeles Clippers.
The Philadelphia 76ers have made it clear that they would like a haul for James Harden. And the Clippers have always seemed unlikely to be able to do that. And now reports have come out saying the team hasn’t put much effort into making a potential move for the Beard.
“Even the Clippers, Harden’s preferred destination, have been fairly unserious about what they’re willing to give up to acquire him,” wrote Kyle Neubeck for The Philly Voice.
“The prevailing sentiment seems to be that Harden is still valued, but on the team’s terms, which is a shift from the franchise-defining clout Harden had at his peak.”
The Clippers have been ‘unserious’ in trade talks for James Harden, per @KyleNeubeck

James Harden is a former MVP, and as recently the 2019-20 season was averaging 34.3 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 7.2 assists per game. Those are insane numbers, but since leaving Houston, he hasn’t been able to find that form again. It makes sense that he isn’t as in demand as he might have been just a year ago.
James Harden Is Adamant About Joining The Los Angeles Clippers
An NBA star rarely gets their mind set on joining one team and one team only, but that’s exactly what has happened with James Harden. If reports are to be believed, he is determined to land up on the Los Angeles Clippers.
“So everyone around the Sixers, they know he’s been incredibly unnerved about how the team has handled his potential free agency and we’ve seen how James Harden can come into camp when he’s disgruntled…
“Right now, Harden is where he’s been for the last few weeks. He wants a trade and he wants a trade to the Clippers. Rival teams that I’ve spoken to still say that’s the path for the Sixers to go down but it’s gonna come down to those two teams engaging.”
The two teams will need to work out some deal if he wants to fulfill his wish, or they will have to wait till the next offseason when he is a free agent. The Clippers need as many shots with their core of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George as they can get though, so hopefully, they start negotiating seriously sooner rather than later.
