Dennis Rodman’s trip to North Korea allowed him to meet Kim Jong Un. The Worm even became friends with the supreme leader of the country.

However, Rodman’s first impression of North Korea was far from impressive. In a recent interview with Vlad TV, Rodman expressed it as similar to being a Vietnam movie.

“I just couldn’t believe what I saw,” Rodman said. “I was like, ‘Oh my God, I’m going to prison in North Korea.’ That’s what I thought, that’s what it seemed like. … There were these people in suits. Black and white suits on the runway with the red carpet. I’m like, ‘Something is wrong here. I don’t know what’s going on.’ They all started walking behind me, and I was like, ‘Oh f*****g’ s**t.'”

He added: “This other guy, he looked at me, ‘Uh oh.’ I said, ‘Uh oh, what?’ So we go inside the hangar and they had these chairs around the wall and then all those people that was outside by the plane started to sit in these seats. This is getting bad to worse. There was like a 100 of them. So I saw two captain chairs like thrones. … Next thing you know, they get up start clapping. I said, ‘This is wrong right now. This is not right. This is like a f*****g Vietnam movie.'”

It’s not hard to imagine why Rodman thought he was going to prison. The way he described his arrival to the country sounds like a scene from a movie.

It was more than enough to prove how that Kim Jong Un is viewed as a god-like figure in North Korea.

Dennis Rodman Was Treated Well By Kim Jong Un

Despite Rodman’s first impression being bad, he was treated with the utmost respect in the country and that’s one of the reasons why he enjoyed his team in Vietnam,

Rodman even claimed that he knows the supreme leader better than the United States government after spending time with him.

“Yep,” Rodman agreed that he knows Kim Jong Un better than the US government. “I ain’t gonna say it on TV, but yeah we actually talked a lot just me and him. We went to one of his islands, ski resorts, his planes, helicopters, and stuff like that. I went everywhere with that kid. We used to sit there, talk about cigars, and he just treated us like we [were] buddies for years.”

He also revealed getting introduced to a stadium with 140,000 people where everyone was just clapping for him.

At the end of the day, Dennis Rodman had a great time in North Korea and became friends for life with Kim Jong Un.
