That was some way to announce yourself on the new stage by Messi. He is 36 years old now but is far from some finished commodity. He can still produce magical moments on a regular basis and soccer fans in the U.S. are in for an absolute treat.

Messi and LeBron had shared an embrace before the game as well and James certainly made the right call by heading over to Miami to attend it. The MLS is nowhere near the likes of the NBA and the NFL, but Messi’s presence is certainly going to help the league grow a lot, especially after this memorable debut.

LeBron James Had Hailed Lionel Messi As The GOAT Last Year

It is incredible moments like these on the biggest stage for almost the last 20 years that have made Messi the greatest soccer player ever in the eyes of many. He strengthened his GOAT case by winning the FIFA World Cup last year by scoring two goals in the Final as Argentina beat France on penalties.

After that sensational triumph, LeBron crowned Messi as the GOAT as he won the only thing that was missing from his trophy cabinet. By the time his stint in the MLS is up, you certainly wouldn’t bet against him having won it all there either.
