This is a strong reaction from Reaves, but it’s understandable since there is no substance to these rumors in the first place. Taylor Swift’s dating life has been one of the most public situations for the last decade, so it makes sense that Reaves doesn’t want to be involved in any of that.
Austin Reaves averaged 13.0 points for the Lakers last season, and he got even better in the playoffs, averaging 16.9 points per game. He will be expecting to start going into the next season and is likely focused on his career at the moment than anything related to his dating life. It would have been crazy if he was dating Swift, though, she is worth $740 million, after all.

“We could have gotten drafted 42nd to Detroit but kind of declined that to put me in LA for a better spot. We tiered teams as in the best fit for me and LA was I think two on the list at the time, Milwaukee may have been one, but they were tier one. I think Detroit called yeah I think it was putting myself in a position to get a roster spot.”
Austin Reaves now has the opportunity to truly become a star by learning under arguably the greatest player ever for the next few seasons. If he can win a championship with the Lakers, maybe dating Swift will become a possibility again in the coming years.
