NBA insider Shams Charania had some latest intel on the Damian Lillard and the Miami Heat saga.

Speaking on the Pat McAfee Show, Charania said the Portland Trail Blazers would potentially receive three or four first-round picks for Lillard in what could encompass a multi-team trade.

“There is a framework with Miami where Portland could end up with three or four first-round draft picks. Miami has two that they can trade out, I think there are multiple teams that would trade out at least one first-round pick for Tyler Herro, so maybe you’re looking at expiring contracts, potentially three first-round picks, maybe assets for Damian Lillard.”

It goes without saying that the Heat will have to include Herro in any of their deals for the Blazers guard, and that would mean a third team will have to be in place to take on the young star’s contract in return for assets to the Blazers.

Chances are that this might be the deal the Blazers will benefit from, as they will have ample first-round picks for teams to sweeten deals with in the future. It does look like a win-win now, but only time will tell.

NBA Executives Believe Damian Lillard Will Join The Miami Heat Eventually

In a sentiment that echoes Thanos’ ‘I am inevitable’, NBA executives strongly believe that Damian Lillard heading to South Beach is inevitable.

“I’ve talked to a bunch of agents, have talked to several executives with other teams, and it’s what everyone is talking about,” wrote Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic in his column.

“And there just seems to be an overall belief that eventually, at some point, Miami will find a way to get the pieces together to get Damian Lillard there.”

Given that the Heat are the only teams in the fray for Lillard, chances are the league execs are right and it only seems clearer that the 32-year-old will play alongside Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo.
