When he’s on the court, it is clear that Zion Williamson is one of the best young talents in the NBA. He could become an MVP-level player for the New Orleans Pelicans one day and is an insanely effective interior scorer due to his athletic gifts.

Though he is an effective scorer at the rim, many have suggested that Zion Williamson needs to diversify his game and add things such as a jump shot and a floater to reduce the toll on his body. However, according to NBA insider Ric Bucher, Zion Williamson is not interested in doing that.

“Where are the floaters, up and under layups, his pull up jumpers at the elbow? Now from what I’ve been told, he’s shown no interest in developing any of those tricks. Tricks that Blake Griffin learned along with a decent three-point shot when the injuries started to pile up for him, and allowed him to single-handedly drag the Detroit Pistons to a playoff berth.”

There is no doubt that Zion Williamson becoming a better all-around offensive player could help him on many levels. Aside from potentially helping him with his durability issues, Zion Williamson developing that part of his game will help him once he inevitably gets to the playoffs.

During the 2022-23 regular season, Zion Williamson averaged 26.0 PPG, 7.0 RPG, and 4.6 APG for the New Orleans Pelicans in 29 games. He is a dominant force, and all he needs to do is stay healthy.

The Tension Between Zion Williamson And The Pelicans Has Increased In The Last Few Months

There is no doubt that the off-court relationship between Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans franchise hasn’t been the best. In fact, it was previously revealed that the “behind-the-scenes tensions” between the two parties have increased as of late.

“Still, even if Williamson isn’t moved before Thursday night, that is far from the end of this story. It’s only the beginning, as behind-the-scenes tensions between Williamson and the Pelicans have intensified over the past few months.”

Hopefully, we do see Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans figure things out. The team has put a great roster around him, and Zion Williamson is the missing piece to the Pelicans competing for a championship.
