It is no secret that James Harden is expecting a trade after he has opted into his $35.6 million player option. However, perhaps there is still a chance that the team could work something out with the star.
Amidst all the trade rumors surrounding him, James Harden posted a photo of himself partying with Joel Embiid and Tobias Harris, who are both his teammates with the Philadelphia 76ers.

There is no doubt that the trio partying together could mean absolutely nothing. It could just be that James Harden has a good relationship with his teammates, and is enjoying his offseason. However, this will give the 76ers and their fans some hope that he is willing to at least play out the season, or perhaps even sign a new deal with the team. Daryl Morey notably hopes to convince James Harden to stay with the team.
This past season, James Harden averaged 21.0 PPG, 6.1 RPG, and 10.7 APG for the Philadelphia 76ers. His staying with the 76ers is key to their contending hopes, and we’ll see what happens in the future.
James Harden Is Reportedly Mad At Daryl Morey And The 76ers For The Handling Of His Free Agency
According to a previous report, the reason James Harden wants to leave the Philadelphia 76ers is due to the way Daryl Morey and the Philadelphia 76ers handled his free agency.
“They’re not attached at the hip anymore, James is very unhappy, he’s very displeased with the way this whole thing (free agency) was handled. He for sure thought that last summer when he gave $15 million back to help them get PJ Tucker and Danuel House, that that was going to come back his way this summer. As we got closer to free agency he was getting radio silence… He was getting nothing. Essentially he and his agent read the room… so he obviously tried to take control of the situation and opted in.”
It will be interesting to see how the James Harden situation unfolds in Philadelphia. James Harden has already been linked with the Los Angeles Clippers, and we’ll see if he ends up there or stays and tries to compete in the Eastern Conference with the 76ers.
