Point guard Damian Lillard is still one of the best players in the league, making the All-NBA third team after the 2022-23 regular season. He has been the face of the Portland Trail Blazers for a long time, but it seems as though his time with the franchise is coming close to an end.

We saw Damian Lillard request a trade recently, and there was no doubt that this decision was a long time coming. The team has failed to surround him with the pieces to truly compete for a championship during his tenure, and it is easy to see why Lillard wants to be moved. Recently, we saw Damian Lillard speak out about the trade request, asking fans whether he has misled them to cause them to turn on him.

“It’s in my blood to take the high road. I’d love to hear what fans are turning on… have I mislead them? Or anyone? Fill me in.”

There is no doubt that it is very reasonable for Damian Lillard to request a trade in this scenario. At some point, it is about trying to win a championship, and trading him will likely get the Trail Blazers a quality return. Everyone benefits from this scenario.

During the 2022-23 season, Damian Lillard averaged 32.2 PPG, 4.8 RPG, and 7.3 APG for the Portland Trail Blazers. It will be interesting to see where he ends up in the future, and hopefully, he lands on a contender.

Damian Lillard Wants A Move To The Miami Heat

Though a lot of teams would love to have Damian Lillard, it seems as though the guard has one main destination in mind. A recent report revealed that he wants to join the Miami Heat because of a variety of reasons.

“Source said Lillard wants Miami because he loves the city; has great respect for Jimmy & Heat and is good friends with Bam. And chance to win. Portland hasn’t specifically told him yet that it will agree to try to trade him to Miami, but I would be surprised if they don’t accommodate.”

The Miami Heat made the 2023 NBA Finals, and perhaps Damian Lillard is the piece that can take them over the top and help them win a championship. He is a prolific scorer and shot creator, and perhaps his offense will let them reach the next level.
