Charles Barkley is one of the most successful players in NBA history. Barkley was a superstar in the league and one of the best players during his time in the NBA. As a result, Barkley made a good amount of money during his NBA career. But what is the worst purchase Barkley has ever made in his career?

During an interview with popstar Jennifer Hudson, Charles Barkley revealed that he purchased multiple Porsches during his stint in the NBA, and thinks of them as the worst purchase he has ever made. He also noted how he now has a Kia, as it does the job a car is supposed to – get you from one place to another.

“A Porsche. Early in your career… Cars are stupid. You don’t waste money on cars, that’s just stupid. I actually bought two Porsches. And I realized, they make you go fast. There are certain cars that you have to drive fast. Like, right now I have a Kia. It gets me from A to B, I’m just trying to get to A to B.”

Barkley, much like many other players before and after him, tried to get into the finer things in life after landing such a lucrative contract. And while expensive cars are nice, Barkley clearly realized that he didn’t need an expensive car when a regular car can do the same job that he needed it to.

Charles Barkley Spent His Money In Hilarious Ways

Charles Barkley amassed a little over $40 million in his NBA career. And while a Porsche or two may have not caused a big dent in his bank account, he has spent his money in more creative ways than that.

Barkley once revealed that he actually paid and hired a professional heckler to heckle Michael Jordan during the 1993 NBA Finals against the Chicago Bulls. The move clearly didn’t work, as the Bulls were able to beat the Suns in 6 games to go on and win the 1993 NBA championship.

A Porsche could be considered a bad purchase, but paying someone to heckle Michael Jordan, knowing that he thrives on trash-talking from fans and players? That is just throwing money away.
