Victor Wembanyama has officially been drafted by the San Antonio Spurs, and fans are already hyped at the idea of him dominating the NBA in the future.

It would seem the Spurs organization is just as excited, Gregg Popovich had some fun remarks regarding that. And in another display of the support being extended toward the French phenom, he shared a picture of himself after dinner with Tim Duncan, David Robinson, and Manu Ginobili.

“Couldn’t ask for better role models,” Wembanyama wrote in his caption, and fans had a variety of reactions to it.

One fan pointed out how lowkey the Spurs’ former stars are, noting that Wembanyama’s talent and potential have them investing their time into his development already.

David Robinson and Tim Duncan are widely considered among the best big men to ever play in the NBA. Fans couldn’t believe how small Wembanyama makes them look.

Not many No. 1 overall picks go to organizations that have been so successful, something another fan pointed out while casually trolling the Charlotte Hornets.

The San Antonio Spurs have a long culture of winning, and with mentorship like this, one fan is expecting Wembanyama to live up to the massive hype surrounding him.

Victor Wembanyama is unlike any other talent that has entered the NBA in the past. Standing at 7’5, his agility and ability to shoot make him highly likely to be a superstar if he can stay healthy. And he is already getting the best advice from players who have won multiple championships for his new franchise.

Tony Parker Told Victor Wembanyama He Has To Be The Next Star To Win An NBA Championship For The Spurs

From the top to the bottom, most people involved with the San Antonio Spurs organization seem like they’re ready to watch Wembanyama tear it up in the league. And Tony Parker has already set the challenge for him, saying he needs to bring another championship to the city

“Your agent showed me a crazy video the morning of your draft. You said you wanted to go to the Spurs. So now it’s happening. So now it’s your turn to bring us a championship.”

The Spurs won five championships with Tim Duncan. David Robinson was around for two of those, while Manu Ginobili was a key contributor during four of their title wins. Wembanyama really couldn’t hope to learn from anybody that achieved as much as they could for San Antonio.
