The Charlotte Hornets drafted Brandon Miller from Alabama with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. The team was seemingly at a crossroads between Miller and Scoot Henderson, ultimately picking the Alabama forward.

After the decision was made and announced by the NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, many within the organization were happy, including Michael Jordan, the team’s owner, until the sale is completed. A video shows how MJ reacted to the pick and his first interaction with Miller as a Hornets player.

Michael Jordan: “What up, dude?”

Brandon Miller: “What’s going on?”

Michael Jordan: “Can you palm a ball yet?”

Brandon Miller: “Of course. I was palming a ball like a couple of days ago.”

Michael Jordan: “Well, welcome, man. I’m looking forward to seeing you play. I know you’ve been talking to Melo [LaMelo Ball] already, haven’t you?”

Brandon Miller: “Yeah, he was texting me right when I was sitting at the table.”

Michael Jordan: “Alright, man. You know what happens now, right? You gotta get to work, dude.”

Brandon Miller: “Get to work.”

Michael Jordan: “Alright, man. I’m very proud. Very happy to have you.”

Brandon Miller: “Thank you.”

It seems like these two get along really well. Contrary to what many would think, Jordan knows how to connect with younger players and he did that with Miller.

Despite the forward picking Paul George as his GOAT over MJ and LeBron James, the six-time NBA champion is cool with Miller.

Miller Previously Impressed Michael Jordan During Workouts

A lot was said about this selection, but Miller made sure to earn his spot as the No. 2 overall pick in this year’s draft. The player reportedly impressed Jordan during his workouts, and the legend didn’t hesitate to pick him over Scoot Henderson, who ultimately went to the Portland Trail Blazers.

Now, as Jordan said, it’s time to work to prove his value. Miller is well aware of that, and after fans showed their discomfort with this pick, he has many reasons to work and play hard whenever he sets foot on the court.
