As LeBron James prepares for his 21st year in the NBA, one of the analysts believes that the four-time champion must end his career with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Bleacher Report’s Gregg Swartz wrote that James must opt-out next offseason, and end his decorated career with his hometown team.

“The Cavs just won 51 games and were the No. 1 defensive team in the NBA with a core four that averages 23.8 years in age,” Swartz said. “All that’s missing? An upgrade at small forward, one who can generate some offense after they looked stuck in the mud during their first-round meeting with the New York Knicks.”

He further added: “A starting five of Garland, Mitchell, James, Mobley, and Allen would be the best in the East, if not the entire NBA. With the Boston Celtics taking a step back this season, the Philadelphia 76ers possibly losing James Harden to free agency, and the Milwaukee Bucks’ core growing older, the Cavaliers would quickly take over the conference once again by adding a talent like James to an already impressive young roster.”

It surely is a mouth-watering prospect. And Cleveland surely has the talent that can help the 38-year-old achieve his objective of winning a title. In his 11 seasons with the Cavaliers, the forward has averaged 27.2 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 7.3 assists, and won a title with the team in 2016.

LeBron James Had Earlier Revealed The Door Was Not Closed For A Cavaliers’ Return

In what went down as one of the more defining quotes from James during the 2022 NBA All-Star Weekend in Cleveland, the four-time MVP generated the buzz when he said the door was not closed on a return to his old team.

“The door’s not closed on that,” James told The Athletic’s Jason Lloyd for a February 19, 2022, feature. “I’m not saying I’m coming back and playing, I don’t know. I don’t know what my future holds. I don’t even know when I’m free.”

But that was enough to send fans into a tizzy. Earlier, James was recruited by Kyrie Irving, his former Cavs teammate, to play for the Mavericks, and now with Swartz gunning for a Cleveland return, only time will tell if James will end his illustrious NBA career with his old team. It would be one magical run if that happened.
