The Los Angeles Lakers are heading into the offseason after getting swept by the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals.

While it shouldn’t be counted as a failed season, the Lakers are still expected to complete a big-name signing in the free agency. Speaking of which, an NBA fan on Reddit asked others for which player among Kristaps Porzingis, DeMar DeRozan, Fred VanVleet, Zach LaVine, and Bradley Beal should the Lakers hypothetically give up their No. 17 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.

At the time of writing, over 5.4K Lakers fans had already voted on the pool. And the results were as follows:

Kristaps Porzingis – 891 Votes

DeMar DeRozan – 1,072 Votes

Fred VanVleet – 509 Votes

Zach LaVine – 1,737 Votes

Bradley Beal – 1,201 Votes

It’s obvious that the Laker Nation wants to see LaVine in the iconic Purple and Gold jersey next season. LaVine has established himself as a legitimate star in the league during his past six years stint with the Chicago Bulls.

On the other hand, Lakers fans want their organization to stay away from Fred VanVleet. The 29-year-old recently opted out of his $22.8 million player option with the Toronto Raptors for the 2023-24 NBA season.

Should The Lakers Trade For Zach LaVine?

Zach LaVine will enter the second year of his $251 million max extension for the 2023-24 NBA season. He averaged 24.8 PPG, 4.5 RPG, and 4.2 APG for the Bulls in the 2022-23 NBA season.

These are great numbers. Despite that, the Bulls reportedly want to trade LaVine this summer. If that’s the case, the Lakers may try to trade for the 28-year-old.

Back in February 2023, it was reported that the Lakers were interested in trading for LaVine. Although the two sides failed to reach an agreement back then, they may finalize the deal this summer.

A Big 3 of LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Zach LaVine should certainly be enough for the Lakers to win their 18th NBA Championship.
