The Portland Trail Blazers are heading into the most important offseason of the Damian Lillard era as the team looks to find a way to return to the playoffs and contend for a title after missing the playoffs for two consecutive seasons.
The team, reportedly, is seriously interested in trading for Pascal Siakam from the Toronto Raptors as part of retooling the roster around Lillard this summer.

Siakam averaged 24.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 5.8 assists this season as the Raptors failed to make it to the play-in tournament in a troubled season that saw Nick Nurse lose his job and a potential rebuild coming in Toronto.
They have a new coach in Darko Rajakovic and could be moving off their veteran stars like OG Anunoby, with Fred VanVleet also expected to leave in the summer.
What Would It Take To Bring Pascal Siakam To Portland?
Trading for a former All-NBA player and NBA champion like Pascal Siakam won’t be easy. He is arguably their most valuable asset alongside Scottie Barnes, who is expected to stay and be the centerpiece of their rebuild. Toronto’s asking price will start with the No. 3 pick, as they could potentially pick up Scoot Henderson to be their franchise point guard.
If Portland can sweeten the deal with young stars like Shaedon Sharpe or Anfernee Simons or a future pick, they could try to get them to include OG Anunoby in a deal as well. There is a framework that can be easily hammered out by both teams, but it’ll require a lot of negotiating for a price to be fair to both teams.
Damian Lillard and Siakam would be a lethal offensive combination but don’t elevate the Blazers into contention. It would greatly improve their chances of making the playoffs, so this could be one move in a series of more to make their roster ready for next season.
