With Chris Paul waived by the Phoenix Suns, the veteran point guard has already been linked to multiple teams, and to an NBA analyst, he would be a perfect fit alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks.

“Adding Chris Paul won’t be done for the sake of bolstering the starting lineup. The Bucks’ starting unit of Giannis Antetokounmpo, Holiday, Middleton, Lopez, and Grayson Allen is solid enough as it is,” wrote ClutchPoints’ Jedd Pagaduan.

“Acquiring Paul, however, should give the Bucks much more stability off the bench. The Bucks’ depth should also give Paul some much-needed room to manage his load in the regular season.”

Paul had a difficult 2022-23 season as he endured a spate of injuries. He was knocked out of the playoffs against the Denver Nuggets with a groin injury. This season, he averaged 13.9 points and 8.9 assists.

With the Bucks speculated heavily to run it back, adding a seasoned veteran PG in Paul would mean some solid scoring opportunities for the likes of Antetokounmpo and Middleton. More importantly, with the Bucks being a young outfit, chances are his load management would work brilliantly in their favor.

Chris Paul’s Run With The Suns Might Not Have Come To An End Entirely

NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski revealed that the Suns are still exploring other possibilities for Paul than just waiving him. He added that the Suns are looking for a financial way to keep Paul on the roster.

“I’m told that the Phoenix Suns and Chris Paul had a series of conversations today to start discussing his future in Phoneix, including the possibility that the team could use the waive-and-stretch provision on his contract prior to the June 28th date to guarantee his contract… Chris Paul wants to remain with the Suns and he wants to be back with Devin Booker and Kevin Durant. Right now, the Suns are looking at a lot of alternatives, including trade possibilities.”

He further added: “They’re going to have talks about Deandre Ayton, so can they move money around to keep Chris Paul on the roster? Or find a trade where they can build out their depth… Right now, Phoenix would like to find a way to financially keep Chris Paul on this roster.”

Chances are Paul gives the Suns a variety of options, and while popular opinion is that he may be done away with, Frank Vogel and co. may run it back with him.
