The NBA Finals is literally the biggest stage in the entire league, and not everybody can handle the pressure. For an entire week (or more), the entire sports world is focused on your team and the expectation to play well can be overwhelming for many players. For Jimmy Butler, however, stepping up in the biggest moments is just a natural process for him and he isn’t sweating it one bit.

In a video that has since gone viral, the Heat superstar posted what he was doing just hours before Game 1: hanging out, listening to country music, and playing cards with his friends/family.

Butler has this thing where he plays his best games during the biggest moments of the season, and it’s the whole reason why Miami is in this position in the first place. We don’t know the secret to his success, but maybe his pre-game routine has something to do with it. Maybe something about hanging out and playing card games before tip-off helps him prepare for the moment?

Whatever the case, it’s clear that Butler is not afraid and he’s treating this game just like he would any other.

Can Jimmy Butler Lead The Heat To A Championship?

The Heat are underdogs in this series, but that’s nothing new for them at this point. Thanks to the rise of guys like Caleb Martin and Gabe Vincent, Miami has been reinvigorated with hot shooting, and they should not be taken lightly.

This Nuggets team will be the biggest test yet for Jimmy and his team, but it’d be foolish to count them out completely.

“I’ve never seen a run in the history of the NBA playoffs with the cast of characters that he has, no disrespect to Gabe Vincent, to Caleb Martin – I love all their stories, it’s incredible – I’ve never seen a man carry a team like this to an NBA Finals,” said Jay Williams.

As the story of this season continues to develop, this Game 1 will be a good tone-setter for this final matchup, and it should give us a good idea of how the rest of this series will play out.
