No other team in NBA history has more championships than the Boston Celtics. With 17 banners to their name, the Cs have a long and storied history that is rich with success and greatness. Today, young stud Jayson Tatum is a part of that history as the Celtics’ undisputed franchise player.

Tatum has already blossomed into an unbelievable talent, but his goals do not stop at being the best player on his team. As he told Quentin Richardson and Darius Miles in an interview with the Players’ Tribune, Jayson wants to be the very face of basketball itself.

“When I was thinking about playing in the league I don’t want to just get there, I want to be the face, I want to be one of the best players,” Tatum said.

Tatum is already one of the best players in the game. With averages of 30 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game this season, Jayson had, arguably, his best season yet as he carried his Celtics team to the 2nd seed in the East.

Historically, Tatm has been known to be inconsistent at times and it’s probably why the Celtics as a team have experienced many highs and lows over the past few years. Regardless, the Celtics are in good hands with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown going forward.

Can Jayson Tatum Lead The Celtics To A Title?

After making a run to the NBA Finals last year, Boston showed that they have the personnel to go all the way. While they haven’t been able to close the deal yet, this team is still young and Tatum has enough belief in himself to take them as far as they can go.

“Humbly, I’m one of the best basketball players in the world. Go through struggles go through slumps. Thankfully I got some great teammates to hold it down, Brogdon, JB, Smart, Al… They all trusted me… All that matters was we won this game, give ourselves another chance come back home for Game 7.”

Before Jayson Tatum can become the face of the league, he’ll have to win the championship. Luckily for him, that milestone seems very much in reach given where his teams have finished over the years.
