The Miami Heat looked to be in the driving seat in the Eastern Conference Finals. They took a 3-0 lead over the Boston Celtics, but things have now changed. The Celtics went on to win the next two games, giving themselves a small glimmer of hope in this series. But one has to imagine what happens if the Celtics do win this series.

NBA fans on Reddit debated what Jimmy Butler’s legacy as a superstar would be if the Boston Celtics were to make a comeback and become the first team in the history of the NBA to overcome. Most fans agreed that losing the series after going 3-0 up would be a stain on his legacy.

Clearly, fans think that Butler’s legacy is on the line in this series. While Jimmy Butler has been praised for how he has led the Miami Heat, all that praise will turn into criticism if he and the Heat let a 3-0 lead slip from their fingers and let the Celtics come back and reach the NBA Finals for a second year in a row.

Can Jimmy Butler Cement His Legacy In Miami?

Butler and the Miami Heat will have the chance to end this series tonight, as Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals takes place in Miami. Playing at home and wanting to avoid a Game 7 in Boston will be solid motivation for the Heat to win and make their way to the NBA Finals.

NBA fans argued that Jimmy Butler winning an NBA championship with the Heat would be greater than Dirk Nowitzki winning the NBA championship with the Dallas Mavericks. The Celtics will be looking to make sure that doesn’t happen, but they have a steep challenge facing them. Game 6 tips off tonight from Miami.
