Nikola Jokic received the ultimate praise from Magic Johnson after the former Los Angeles Lakers legend said the big man was changing the game like some of the greatest players to have played in the NBA.

“The Joker is changing the game of basketball right before our very eyes much like Michael, Larry, LeBron, Steph, Kobe, Kareem, and Shaq,” he tweeted.

While Kareem and Shaq are the only other centers in Magic’s list, he also noted that Jokic’s firepower was on par with the rest of the scorers in the team who could also defend, making them a versatile list.

Jokic was the star of the Conference Finals against the Lakers and was the singular force who pegged the Phoenix Suns out of contention. His efforts saw some lavish praise from LeBron James.

“I know how great he is,” James on if Jokic proved him nothing. “There are certain guys in this league that play the game a certain way, a certain way that I like to play the game as well, and he’s one of them where you are always off balance when you are guarding a player like that because of his ability to score, rebound, shoot. He sees plays before they happen. There are not many guys in our league like that.”

Given his greatness and dominant run, the Nuggets are now firm favorites to win the NBA Finals — one that will surely put him in the conversations as a star who could lead their side to titles.

Nikola Jokic Has Responded Perfectly To Critics And Doubters

There were a lot of arguments on how Jokic didn’t taste success in the playoffs after winning two straight MVPs in 2021 and 2022. This was also the time when doubters felt he didn’t deserve MVP for the third time.

In response, Jokic dished out scintillating numbers. He averaged 27.8 PPG, 14.5 RPG, 11.8 APG, 1.3 SPG, and 1.3 BPG against the Lakers to lead the  Nuggets to their first Finals appearance in franchise history. Now, all he wants is the title, and given his form and the team’s chemistry, it’s safe to say he has silenced his haters.
