The Denver Nuggets, one can argue, have been the best team in the NBA Playoffs so far. They’ve shown that against the Lakers so far in the Western Conference Finals. Should the Nuggets win Game 4, Denver would make history on several levels.

As pointed out by an NBA fan on Reddit, if the Denver Nuggets win Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals, they will reach the NBA Finals for the first time in the history of their franchise, defeat the Lakers in a playoff series for the first time in the history of their franchise, and sweep a team in the playoffs for the first time in the history of their franchise.

On Monday night the Nuggets have the opportunity to sweep a team for the first time in their playoff history, beat the Lakers in a playoff series for the first time in their history, and make it to the finals for the first time in their history.

The Nuggets have faced the Lakers in the playoffs 7 times (not including this series) with the Lakers coming out on top each time. The Lakers even beat the Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals thrice (1987, 2009, 2020).

Jokic was in contention to win the NBA MVP award for the third year in a row this season but missed out to Joel Embiid. But if Jokic and the Nuggets reach the NBA Finals, Jokic could win an NBA championship, and even a Finals MVP trophy. That would be an amazing accomplishment for the Serbian superstar, and would certainly take the sting out of missing out on a threepeat as MVP.
